Volcanic minerals.

I have always been fascinated by volcanoes since I was a little kid. The fascination and interest hasn't lightened up yet, so this summers vacation took me finally to a volcano, Santorini in Greece.
I will later add some images of both the volcano and some minerals I collected there.
I also have some rocks from New Zealand from a recent eruption that I will add at a later date.

First some links to other volcanic related pages.

Iceland.
I got theese stones from a friend in Östersund.
When I asked him if he could bring back some lava from Iceland, he lafed and said that it was almost impossible to find something that wasn't volcanic on Iceland.
He was so right. About 80% of Iceland is of volcanic origin, and the last 20% is sedimentary.
Pumice

White pumice from a famous eruption of Heckla in 1300.
I was told that this was the only time the volcano produced white ash.
As a gift from Reynir Siik in 1991.
