This is an example of biotite in calcite. I'm not totally sure that the black
crystals really is biotite. They are easily cleaved in thin flakes as mica, and is a good electrical insulator. The size of the calcite crystals in the matrix is about 2-5 mm. I thought it was a piece of quartz with biotite for over a year until I realized what it really was. If there is anyone that know if biotite is common in calcite rocks ( it is probably of volcanic origin ), please send me a mail. Grey-pink sort of feldspar, unknown type. From the Sundsvall area, Sweden Collected in the summer of 1995 (300 dpi, 800x600, 32k) |

Feldspar (unknown type) with some small pieces of an unknown mineral at the right side.
The blue-green minerals are not feldspar, since it isn't soluble in the feldspar. There are also some quarts in the stone. From the Sundsvall area, Sweden Collected in the summer of 1995 (300 dpi, 800x600, 50k) |

This is a strange stone, it looks like a thin vein with some lilac mineral in
the center. It contains a lots of different minerals. The lilac mineral could be
fluorite, but I haven't had the time to test it. From the Sundsvall area, Sweden Collected in the summer of 1995 (300 dpi, 800x600, 34k) |

Feldspar, biotite and some green crystals of unknown type ( hard to see in the
picture ). The crystals is in the middle under the biotite and to the right. From the Sundsvall area, Sweden Collected in the summer of 1995 (300 dpi, 800x600, 57k) |

A calcite vein of probably hydrothermal source. From the Sundsvall area, Sweden Collected in the summer of 1995 (300 dpi, 800x600, 79k) |

Another calcite vein of probably hydrothermal source. From the Sundsvall area, Sweden Collected in the summer of 1995 (300 dpi, 800x600, 40k) |
