Glaucodot

Glaucodot crystal from Håkansboda, Västmanland, Sweden.
The rock concists of two intergrown crystals in a matrix of mostly sulphides. It is hard to see the crystal since it is too shiny. Either the surface is all shiny or it is black since it doesn't reflects any light.
Collected by Luziana Pederzani 1979-05-13.

Holmquistite

Fanlike fibric holmquistite from Utö, Södermanland, Sweden.
Collected in 1977.
Rock size : 10x6x2 cm.
Halite

A clear halite crystal with a number of crystal surfaces. It isn't in the usual cubic form but in a more elongated and sharper crystal.
From Wieliczka, Poland.
Crystal size 5x3x3 cm.
Halite

A clear halite crystal in the usual cubic form. It has large areas inside the crystal colored in a purple tone, looking like purple mist. Partly it is all clear.
From Oalascibetta, Sicilia, Italy.
Collected in 1971.
Crystal size 4x4x3 cm.
Halite

This halite crystal isn't as well formed. It is mostly uncolored but there are a number of distinct colored layers clearly visible when observed from the side. The color here is mostly blue.

Hemimorphite

This rock consists of clear crystals of hemimorphite on a base of brown limonite.
From Mapimi, Mexico.
Size 7x5x3.5 cm.
Hemimorphite

Another sample of hemimorphite. This one shows the botryoidal form of blue hemimorphite.
From Sa Duchessa, Sardinia, Italy.
Size 4x3x2.5 cm.
Smithsonite

A nice bubbly crust of smithsonite covers the surface on this porous rock.
From Cornwall, England.
Size 5x3x3 cm.
Cinnabar

A very nice sample of cinnabar on white dolomite. Many of the crystals are broken but the largest one (8 mm) is undamaged.
From Fenghuang, Hunan province, China.
Size 7x5x3.5 cm.
Trilobite : Asaphus Expansus

Upper ordovicium, about 450 million years old.
This picture is a little darker than it is in real life.
Collected in Ljungsbro.
The trilobite is 3.6 cm long.
