Almandine, Thaumasite

Thaumasite
From Viscaria, Kiruna, Sweden.
It is very hard to get a good picture of this rock. It is made up of a lot of small needles and pure white.
A gift from Jorge Alves, Umeå.

Almandine
An almandine crystal from Laufenberg, Carinthia, Austria.
One corner is broken off, else it is mostly complete. Only small traces of the host rock remains.
Barted with G. M. Heinricher, Austria.
Size : 4.5x4x4 cm.

Almandine
Another almandine crystal from Laufenberg, Carinthia, Austria.
This one is smaller but have more distinct edges and smoother surfaces. There is no fresh damages on it but some surfaces shows pits and dislocations that comes from restricted growth.
Barted with G. M. Heinricher, Austria.
Size : 3x3x3 cm.
