Habitus Crystals are small tabular and often twinned. Usually massive, granular and radial.
Cleavage [010] Imperfect, conchoidal fracture.
Hardness 4.5 - 5
Density 6.9 - 7.3
Color Tin white to steel gray, opaque.
Streak Black.
Luster Metallic.

Associates Arsenic, erythrite, calcite.
Notes I found two references to type locality, have to check it later!!!
Type locality : Nordmark, Värmland, Sweden.
Type locality : Schneeberg, Sachsen (Saxony), Germany (?)
Forms a substitution serie with Rammelsbergite (more nickel) and Loellingite (more iron).
Localities A rare mineral in Sweden
  • Tunaberg, Södermanland. Massive.
  • Nordmark, värmland. As small crystals.
  • Also found in small quantities in the Skellefteå mining field. (Adak, Boliden, Lainijaur, Laver, Lindström)
