Habitus Short, prismatic and thick tabular, up to 1 cm. Twinning on {110} commonly. Often massive compact.

Color Grayish blue to black.

Luster Metallic, opaque.
Description  
Occurance In enrichmentzones of copper deposits.
Associates Digenite, bornite, chalcopyrite, chalcosite, anilite, pyrite.
Notes A mineral closely related to chacosite. Probably more commonly than current findings tell.
Named after S. Djurle, who produced synthetic djurleite. Later it was also found naturally occuring.
Localities A rare mineral
Sweden :
  • Långban, Värmland. In dolomite together with chalcosite, pyrite and metallic copper.
Norway :
  • Näsmark, Åmdals verk.
  • Lillebotn, Tysfjord. In ore together with bornite, chalcopyrite and chalcosite.
Finland : waiting for data.
