Habitus Acicular to fibrous, as compact crusts and botryoidal masses.
Cleavage None.
Hardness 4.5
Density 4.1-4.33
Color Grass green to light green.
Streak Green.
Luster Vitreous.
Description  
Occurance In the oxidation cone of copper ore bodies.
Associates Malachite, Azurite, Linnarite.
Notes Type locality : Hinojosa, Cordova, Spain.
Discovered by Breithaup and Fritzsche in 1849.
No fluorescens.
Locations Not found in Sweden or Norway. Good localities exists in several places :
  • Cordova, Spain.
  • Bisbee, USA
  • Utah, Nevada and Arizona, USA.
  • Other countries it is found in are Mexico, Chile, Poland and Zaire.
