Habitus	Crystals as long striated crystals. Also as fibric aggregates.
Cleavage	Good pyroxene cleavage, uneven fracture.
Hardness	6-6.5
Density	3.53-3.60
Color	Greenish black, dark brown to red brown.
Streak	Pale yellowish gray streak.
Luster	Vitreous to resinous.
Description
Occurance	In igneous rocks and in metamorphic rocks. Also in nefeline syenites.
Associates
Notes	Fuses easily.
Locations	Unusual in Sweden. Norra kärr, Gränna. As long green black crystals. Hartung, Alnö area. As small needle like crystals, often fillings in cracks in migmatite. Långban, Värmland. With enstatite and melanotekite.
