VISITSWhen I finally did find it, it was the smallest quarry I've ever seen. Only a 2 meter wide ditch, about 15-20 m long. Anyhow, I started to look around, and found a piece of the "pyrofysalite" I'd read about. When I got it out, it was almost dark, so I quit for the day and went back home to Västerås. | ||

This is a massive chunk of pyrofysalite, a topas partly transformed into damourite, a muscovite variety. It was sitting in feldspar when I found it, but it fell away from the matrix when it came loos. Collected 1997-10- (300 dpi, 800x600, k) |
