VISITSIt started after the dinner on the annual meeting of the Swedish Amateur Geological Assosiation. We were a couple of persons that thought that it had been too much talk and too little time for minerals during the weekend. (Especially two persons from Umeå who had the first opportunity of rockhunting after the winter.) We started in two cars from Koppaberg and drove up to Skisshyttan to collect gedrite out in the forest. When we all had some nice pieces of gedrite we started to talk about the other localities in the vicinity, Stollbergsgruvan and the arsenopyrite crystals. .... Continue some other day here Stollbergsgruvan - Arsenopyrite, Gårdmyragruvan - silvbergite and almandine. 98-06-27 This is the second visit, now with Västerbotten amateur geologist association. This time I was the leader and rushed the other through a couple of localities. The weather was good and it was easy to collect the minerals we were searching for. The grand finale came in Schisshyttan with the gedrite. - I attacked a boulder with nice big gedrite suns in with my sledgehammer, and after 10-15 minutes of brute force a nice piece came off. | ||
