[ Unknown crystals in scarn ]
Grossular

I think that this is grossular, a variety of garnet, but I'm not sure.
The rock seems to be some kind of scarn. The crystals in the top are light brown to almost black. The material between the crystals is calcite. There are also an intrusion of magnetite on the right side of the rock.
From the Odal mine field, Persberg, Sweden.

Grossular

Zoomed picture of the grossular crystals above.
The crystals are light brown to almost black. The crystal form is cubic, in the form of an ikosatethraeder.
The biggest crystal looks as it's been cracked in the middle, maybe a twin crystal formation.
The material thats between the crystals are calcite.
Hardness of the crystals : 5-6 (I'm a little uncertain here, since I don't want to destoy them.)
From the Odal mine field, Persberg, Sweden.
One of my earliest findings, I will update it soon, probably only garnet. (600 dpi, 800x600, 54k)
Magnetite

Magnetite in calcite.
The black mass is magnetite and the white is calcite. The calcite is present everywhere, even in the magnetite, between the magnetite grain.
From the Odal mine field, Persberg, Sweden.

Diopside

The piece shows two perfect cleavages.
There's a third one thats not so good. The angle between the two first is about 70-75 degrees. This picture is taken from the major cleave, the side is totally flat.
There are also some magnetite in this rock ( to the right ).
From the Odal mine field, Persberg, Sweden.
(600 dpi, 800x600, 56k)
Diopside

The same stone again, but from the other side.
The magnetite is to the left now, and is seen as a thin line running down to the bottom of the stone.
From the Odal mine field, Persberg, Sweden.
(600 dpi, 800x600, 70k)
