Tremolite in calcite. I apologise for the quality of the picture, but the stone is shining white and quite hard to get any contrast in it. Collected 1997-. (300 dpi, 800x600, k) |
Tremolite, pseudomorph after diopside. It is not prepared with acid in any way. It is naturally etched out of the calcite. Barted with Arn-Sigurd 1997. (200 dpi, 800x600, k) |
I shure like this piece with diopside pseudomorphs. It consists of a number of crystals, broken and fused together. This is the way I found it, all calcite have weathered away, leaving something looking like tree. Collected 1997-09. (300 dpi, 800x600, k) |
This is another example of the diopside crystal pseudomorphs possible to find in the limestone. The crystal is about 9 cm long, 5-15 mm thick and 3 cm wide. It is broken at the thick end. The stuff have a rather stange appearence, it looks like someone have drove a piece of wood through a rock. The calcite is still left on the other three sides. Collected 1997-. (200 dpi, 800x600, k) |
A small chirp of the edge of a bigger collection of dravite and kyanite. I am still working on the bigger piece, so it will soon emerge here. Collected 1997-. (300 dpi, 800x600, k) |
A crystal pack of kyanite, running straight the stone as a heap of papers. The picture shows the pack from the side. Collected 1997-. (300 dpi, 800x600, k) |
This crystal pack of kyanite have had a ruff time, sometime in the past it have been compressed, resulting in a rather odd bend of the kyanite crystal. There is more kyanite in the rock, but none shows any bending like this one. Collected 1997-. (200 dpi, 800x600, k) |
A concentrate of rutile. As usual it accompanied the kyanite we found. The grains doesn't show any good crystal forms, but the characteristic dark red-lilac color is there. Collected 1997-. (300 dpi, 800x600, k) |
