Minerals collected Almandine, Talc, Magnesite, Pyrrhotite, Rock crystal, Schorl, Serpentine.

Schorl

Black tourmaline, schorl, part of a bigger block about 40 cm across.
Unknown locality, probably found in the Hemmavan area in Västerbotten.
Found in our mountain cabin in the summer of 1995

Almandine

A fine example of the habitus of almandine garnets.
The matrix consists of fyllite, which are a major part of the Swedish fjells.
Found in Låktatjokka, Björkliden, Norrbotten, Sweden.

Conglomerate

Conglomerate from the Oviksfjällen. There will be a photo of the locality later on.

Pyrrhotite

A small vein with pyrrhotite in quartz. From the borderzone of the crystal mine in Olden, Jämtland. (A 6m wide quartz vein.)
This is possibly an example of pyrrhitite in a hydrothermal vein.
Collected on a friday night in the summer of 1991.

Talc

A piece of foliated talc from the Laisholm soapstone quarry, Hemavan, Västerbotten. To the right is a dolomite crystal (called ankerite).
